Farm & Ranch Care

Mobile Veterinary Services for Large Animals

Watson Veterinary Services, PLLC provides mobile farm and ranch veterinary care for horses, small ruminants, and camelids. This service is designed for clients who prefer high-quality veterinary care delivered directly to their property, eliminating the need for animal transport. Ambulatory farm calls focus on preventative medicine, routine care, and practical on-site diagnostics, with limited urgent and emergency availability offered for established clients.

Ambulatory farm call services typically include:

Travel to your farm or ranch

Administration of vaccinations and preventative care

Evaluation and physical examination of individual animals or herds

Sample collection for diagnostic testing when needed

Performance of indicated procedures or treatments

Time for client questions, education, and care planning

Each visit is tailored to the needs of the animals and the goals of the owner.

When to Schedule

Recommended Uses for Ambulatory Farm Calls

Ambulatory farm calls are commonly requested for:

  • Seasonal spring and fall vaccination programs

  • Annual or biannual equine dental floating

  • Coggins testing and health documentation for travel or sale

  • General wellness and preventative care exams

  • Nutrition and management consultations

  • Evaluation of injury, lameness, or illness

This service is ideal for routine maintenance as well as addressing concerns that arise in a farm or ranch setting.

During a farm call, Dr. Watson will arrive at the scheduled time with the necessary equipment and supplies to perform the planned services. Animals are examined in their familiar environment, which often reduces stress and allows for more accurate assessment. Following the examination and any procedures, findings and recommendations are reviewed with the owner, and next steps or follow-up care are discussed. Our goal is to provide efficient, thorough, and compassionate care while respecting your time and property.

What to Expect

Thorough, Stress-Free Care During Every Farm Call

Preparation Tips for Farm Calls

To help ensure an efficient and productive farm visit, we ask clients to prepare the following prior to arrival:

Animals should be safely caught, haltered, or penned in an appropriate handling area to allow for easy and efficient examination and treatment.

All concerns, procedures, and services needed should be discussed at the time of scheduling, so Dr. Watson can arrive with the appropriate equipment, medications, and supplies.

Please ensure there is safe access to the animals and adequate space to perform examinations and procedures.

Having a knowledgeable handler available during the visit helps keep both animals and people safe and allows care to proceed smoothly.

Proper preparation allows us to maximize time on-site, minimize stress for the animals, and provide the highest quality care during each farm call.
